IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) Information and Training
The IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) is essentially a series of documents that are used to aid the creation and implementation of a framework for IT Service Management based on a shred view of ‘Best Practice’. As the framework is based on guidelines rather than rules or legislation ITIL does remain flexibility and so is applicable to nearly every organisation regardless of market sector.
ITIL is organized into a series of sets, which themselves are divided into two main areas: service support and service delivery. Service Support is the practice of those disciplines that enable IT Services to be provided effectively. Service Delivery covers the management of the IT services themselves.
Any organisation that is serious about enjoying the benefits of consistent Best Practice, in IT service delivery should begin by selecting key members of staff to undergo the ITIL foundation course. This and many others are available from a range of training suppliers and each course carries with it an examination.
Once the ITIL message starts to spread within a business and its benefits appreciated it is likely that the organisation in question will wish to invest in more training and develop the skills of those concerned to Manager and Practitioner level.
SAMpartners’ consultants are all ITIL qualified and in fact contributed to the creation and publication of the ITIL SAM guideline.
We would be pleased to advise on ITIL training courses and suitable suppliers
